Crossroads Magazine

This magazine layout and print advertising design was completed as part of a coursework unit in visual representation. The brief was to create the visual design and layout for a fictional travel magazine called ‘Crossroads’. This included the cover page, inside layout and advertising. For this design I tried to take a conventional approach that fit with most people’s expectations of a travel magazine. The front cover showcases the photography while creating a legible hierarchy. The layout and typesetting are dynamic and again showcases the photography, with imagery going across the fold and text taking second priority. Selected typefaces are professional and classy, as befits a trade publication aimed at an up-market audience.  lt begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference. Don’t worry about sounding professional; Sound like you. There are over 1.5 billion websites out there, but your story is what’s going to separate this one from the rest. If you read the words back and don’t hear your own voice in your head, that’s a good sign you still have more work to do.
